When does the hunting season begin?

The main hunting season usually takes place between the end of October to early April whilst the ‘cubbing’ season (referred to officially as Autumn Hunting) takes place between August and the end of October.

This leaves a period of around 3-4 months where hunts are not actively out and about however there area variety of practices and activities related to hunting which go on all year round. These include the main fundraising events (Hunt balls and Point to Point events) as well as darker activities such as breeding foxes to be hunted, creating artificial earths and feeding fox cubs to hounds to train them to kill.
